My imperfect perfect home

It is way back in 2007. One of my friend visited my home. He pinpointed about broken handle of fry pan/blunt (not very blunt) knife and many imperfection in my house. I was irritated; but i could not register my irritation in front of him due to lack of any rational answer (thank God atleast i didnt argue hard without any reason even then). That friend has recently met me and this time too i could have sesnsed same sense of immaturity which i found in him two years back. But thanks to him or circumstances, i was able to get answer to long pending question which was ever into back of my mind.
It is our home.....everybody's home which is highest manifestation of imperfections so perfectly weaven that it looks like most perfect thing in the world. Home teaches us many things....How to tolerate..not only tolerate but humbly accept others drawbacks. Moreover we learn to live happily in all circumstances. We tend to respect our parents/ elders despite their povery, lack of status. Even when they rebuke and scold us, we naturally forget it and doesnot harbour any grudge against them. This is the beauty of imperfect perfect home.
It is not the things, gadgets or luxury in the home which makes it great, rather it is warmth in the relations which makes all the difference. Happy home is not which possess maximum, but is one where members respect and love each other. And that is paramount.

ambivalence

i was thinking...if it is necessary that u follow your parents blindly or it is important to think rationally and act.i couldn't draw any conclusion...but i tried to think on this fragile yet important topic. One thing which became obvious to me that parents intent is always good. They are almost thinking for the betterment of their children. But it is not true that they are always right. i have seen in many cases when somebody's parents act stubborny and in their quest to satisfy their parent ego, their adult ego got sidelined. What to do in those cases. Question is complex and there can not be made any generalizations in this regard, because in many cases you have to pamper the parents ego inspite of the fact that u knows that they are wrong. In this quest one thing should always be borne in mind that parents might be harsh on you not only one two or three time but on unlimited occassions....but at no point of time u could be harsh on them. Our existence si due to them and this fact make them above us...always...yes but you could disobey them on reasonable occassions nd that too with all humility nd goodness.

convictions

its the struggle between faith and hard work or I am perceiving it wrongly. I dont know, but, i certainly started realizing that all faith and no hard work can make you lazy and sluggish and nothing else. Moreover to have 100% focus on particular thing was not that simple & easy and never it ll be. Talking about conviction doesn't show that you have conviction. it need actually great amount of effort and courage first to undersatnd and know about your own conviction. People might be realizing it later...may be so late that the moment come after the death....but then so what..its your innerself which should be satisfied and nobody elses. I also started realizing that to realize your convictions you have to unlearn so many things which you are litening from your childhood and which has already been reinforced in your personality. You actually need neves of steel to go against them...but again these are the convictions and they doesn't go easy.

Busy yourself

You are busy...you are happy. Perhaps life is name of keeping oneself busy(happy) throughout. one thing is important in this regard...that to keep oneself busy is also an art. If you know the art then you will always have time to chase your dreams and on the other hand you will always be learning new things....sounds facsinating, but experience is even more facsinating. Life becomes easy and simple and the complex & complicated sounds easy in first stroke. The art is to keep oneself busy in a manner where growth of mind, body and soul takes place immediately.

Convictions and contentment

Whar are convictions? To my understanding, its something which your heart says is true and genuine. How many people dare to go with their convictions. I think...very few...and those few receive the wrath of society. Moreover, on many occassions people tries to prove them wrong and make them an object of laughter. But convictions are convictions and it is their true test....Because if the person doesn't succumb to the pressure, then convictions are strong and the strong convictions make people strong.
Be it Galileo, Martin Luther King or mahatma Gandhi....all were people with great courage and conviction. One important thing about these graet men was that although during their life time, people have criticized them, but history remember them with great respect and honour. Thus....follow your heart and true to your convictions...it may not bring money and success...but it surely brings a lot of contentment.

Yoga for rejuvenation

If one is heading towards a destination in car, then he cannot have excuse of not filling the tank because of non availability of time, as he could not reach the destination without requisite fuel. same is true with our health. We usually make excuse of our busy schedule and thus neglect our health, but we fail to make a point that we will be heading to major disastre if at any point we ignore health issues. It was greatly emphasized in Yoga camp of Baba Ram Dev held in Jhakri. In this five days camp i realized many truths. One without healthy body, we cannot have health mind. second it is we, ourselves, who could be held responsible for our bodies. third, rejuvenation of body helps in increasing our confidence and thus our mind and soul also enriches. Fourth, healthy body and healthy mind is able to direct itself towards the betterment of society.
One thing which i was thinking is that Baba Ram Dev has demystified Yoga to a level where even common man practices it and dreams of a healthy life without spending lakhs of rupees on medical facilities. What Mahatama Gandhi does with Congress, Swami Ram Dev does with Yoga. Mahahtama Gandhi turned congress from an elitist orgainzation to mass movement. In the same manner, Baba Ram Dev has taken Yoga from drawing rooms of some to the whole masses of the country. He has been able to draw attention of youth, because he beleives in doing and not marely preahing. Hats off to Baba Ram dev. He truly deserves Bharate Ratna and Noble Peace Prize.

Help Me

Its strange, when you don't know what you are writing....but you are writing....maybe its something inside your mind, which wants an outlet; but doesn't know what exactly it want to express. Can we call this state of mind 'Natural' or it is quite unnatural on your part. Oh my God...its philosophical or straight or an phenomenon which does not carry any tag. But it is surely something which is troubling your mind and which is agitating and creating whirlpool in your infinite mind. But question remains the same....what is it....maybe our mind doesn't know what it is...or may be it doesn't want to accept what it already knows. Or may be some reader could suggest the answer.....help me.

Be Special (Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach)

Fantastic morale booster book. Jonathan Livingston seagull is an ordinary seagull except his power of dreamig big. He wants to challenge the status quo and in his incessant struggle for betterment he breaks all the rules of the game. He was outcasted for this; but then what....whenever somebody tries to attempt new....world used to ridicule and discourage. What happenend to Copernicus and Galileo, inspite of them right, they were ridiculed, teased and even punished. But like them, seagull was also sure of his convictions and that was perhaps his strong point....that he never feared from failure. He was able to overcome his limitations with patience, consistency and hard work. No body is special, divine and extraordinary or everybody is special, divine and extraordinary. We just need that attitude..." if he can do it why can't we" and that type of attitude helped in making Jnathan livingston seagull a special seagull. We also need dormant Jonathan inside us to wake up and become special.

Sarvodya or swaranodaya

Yesterday was Gandhi Jayanti. Congress District Presidents were to spend the night with Dalits as a symbolic gesture. They were doing politically correct thing and were upright in doing so. According to some news repors Mayawati was nervous. I felt good and bad about whole drama. Good....because atleast this will help in highlighting some of problems being faced by dalits and downtrodden. Moreover, may be, good sense of some of our politicians may prevail and they may become atleast half consciouos of dalits' issues. I felt bad because after so many of years after independence we haven't been able to solve the problem of poverty. Morever our leaders are hardly serious about finding any permanent and institutional soution to these problems. In this backround the gesture seems more like hypocratic expression then genuine concern.
Gandhiji's dream of Sarvodya seems to be vanishing in the backgroung.

Keep on learning

We have an irony. Jug Surairya in TOI has rightly said that the moment we start teaching, we stop learning. When we were in colleges, we used to think that we will be doing the unthinkable and we will be conquering the impossible. But after getting our jobs, we tend to vegetate and in a sense stop living our dreams. It becomes same bloody monotonous routine, and we hardly find time for introspection and inner overhauling. We stop chasing our goals. That is a vicious circle which actually drains all our ideological aspirations and means to an end actually becomes end itself.
But there are few who keeps thirst for knowledge (or their dreams) alive and thus contribute not only to society, but to themselves also. They don’t let circumstances or sluggishness to overpower their ambitions. Rather tough time makes them even tougher. So, if you have penchant for something and you make efforts for that, then it is certain that you are going to become master of that field and ultimately going to find contentment in that, which is and should be the ultimate goal of any individual in this earthly life.

Reciprocal Altruism

I like the idea of Gandhigiri, as shown in movie...Lage Raho Munna bhai. During national struggle we had seen that 'Doves' or peace loving people agitated in a style of which even britishers didn't has any answer. it was such a beautiful yet effective weapon that world is looking it as one of greatest tool to discover peace and tranquility. But in this modern era we have also seen people, nation, idealogies and groups who does not understand the language of love. Here even Gandism may fail. So here we need reciprocal altruism(I read of this in TOI in Gurcharan Das's article). Recciprocal altruism is a middle path between the philosophy of Hawks(Extremists) and Doves. Its like treating not only good but evil with compassion and genuity, but then if person acts against, then reciprocate it with full force. I think terrorists organizations and nations who harbour and encourages terrorisom need to be reciprocated like this. Ready to fail yourself unless the opponent is playing within rules, but strike hard when he deserves so and then succeed with all honour and respect.

Fail and learn

I fear from failure and therefore alwyas takes one step backward whenever its about taking to new ventures. Pathetic........if I ever think like this, because it actually stops me to grow. If I am too scared of failure, then I will always be away from the success. Mahatama Gandhi's biggest strenght was to try new things and then stick to his covictions. He also failed.....rather failed many times. But every failure give him new insights and give him a sort of experience which otherwise he couldn's have gained. That means great men are no different...They all are same....but the thing which makes them different is their dedication and curiosity to learn new things. Bottom line remains the same.....keep on trying, don't get discouraged from failure and then one day, in this process you will find your calling which will lead you to awaited destination.

Perseverance

That change is possible and extraordinary could happen; all you need is perseverance of efforts. You will fall, you will lose, but you have courage to learn from these, then nothing could actually stops you from becoming a winner. Igniting to your curiosity and then constantly thinking for your goal will certainly make destiny works for you. The theme is clear, crystal clear that change will happen and will make life beautiful; all you need is to listen to your heart and create a wonderful balance between your body, mind and soul.
